The Gospel in Five Minutes
What the New Testament writers mean when they say "good news".
The Gospel—derived from the Greek word Evangely, meaning "good or joyful tidings"—is the central proclamation of the Christian faith. At its core, the Gospel is the historic, orthodox announcement of the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, for the salvation of humanity. It is the declaration that the Triune God, out of boundless love and mercy, provided a way to redeem a fallen world that was bound by sin, corruption, and death.
