Who runs this site
Bible Studio AI is operated by Mindful Gaming UK, a registered UK Christian charity. The data controller for personal data processed through this site is Mindful Gaming UK. Contact: info@mindfulgaminguk.org.
What we collect
- Account: email address, display name, sign-in method, password hash (when password sign-in is used), tradition lens, study language, and saved profile preferences.
- Study activity: Bible passages you read, lessons you open, saved highlights, saved passages, notebooks, and lesson progress, tied to your account.
- AI tutor activity: the prompt you send, the cited answer the model returns, and the retrieval bundle used to ground the answer. We retain enough to support quota enforcement and abuse review.
- Personal Study uploads: the title, format, and content you upload, stored in a per-user private namespace. Never merged into a shared corpus.
- Groups: chat messages, presence, raised hands, and shared passage state for groups you join. Moderation flags are logged.
- Children mode (when used by a parent or guardian): the child profile name, age band, and selected stories. We do not run adult pastoral counselling against a child profile and we do not store voice recordings of children.
- Billing (Pro plan): Stripe handles card details on our behalf. We store the subscription ID, plan tier, and renewal status. We do not see your card number.
- Technical: IP address (transient, for rate limiting and abuse defence), session cookie, and basic request logs. No third-party advertising trackers.
Why we use it (lawful basis)
- Contract: running your account, AI features, groups, billing.
- Legitimate interest: abuse prevention, moderation, service security, light operational analytics.
- Consent: any optional analytics or communications you opt into.
Who we share it with
- Stripe for subscription billing.
- Google Cloud for hosting (Cloud Run, GCS) and for AI inference (Gemini / Vertex). Prompts you send to the tutor are processed by these providers under their data-processing terms.
- YouTube Data API for worship/lesson video search. We cache results server-side and never expose API keys to your browser.
- Bible-text providers (e.g. Digital Bible Library partners) for licensed translations, when entitlement is configured. Public-domain translations are served from our local corpus.
We do not sell personal data. We do not show third-party advertising.
Children
Children mode must be enabled and configured by a parent or guardian. We do not market the product to children. Profiles for under-13s require guardian setup. The kids tutor pipeline blocks adult pastoral counselling posture, frightening or graphic content, and licensed lyric/text leakage. Guardians can delete a child profile at any time.
Retention
Account data is kept while your account is active. Study activity, notes, and uploads are kept until you delete them or close your account. Deletion requests are honoured within a reasonable window (target: 30 days). Backups are rotated under standard schedules.
Your rights (UK GDPR)
- Access a copy of your data.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your account and personal data.
- Export your study activity and Personal Study uploads.
- Restrict or object to specific processing.
- Complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Cookies
We use a single first-party session cookie (bsai_session)
to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add
analytics in future we will request consent first and document it
here.
